Because this is mostly a black community
Flint Michigan is a city of roughly 1000,000 people and the makeup of the people are black people working class people. They were getting their water from Detroit water supply until the city stopped and starting sourcing it's water from Flint river. Why wasn't this discussed with the citizens of Flint? and Why didn't the city test this water before giving the thumbs up to switch? read more here
